Unity in supporting people on Universal Credit

Following a letter letters from mayor mp and council feb 18signed by over 40 faith leaders in Southwark, we have had responses from MP’s, the council leader and the Mayor of London.  They are all in support of the stand we have taken and would like to work further with faith groups to ensure the impact of Universal Credit is reduced from it’s current levels.  Neil Coyle MP offering to host a meeting for faith leaders concerned with the issue.

Transform Southwark will be working with MP’s and authorities to see what we can do in terms of offering; practical, emotional and awareness support whilst the new system of benefits continues to have such a negative impact on the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the borough.
